Community and Social Responsibility

Central Pre-Mix Concrete Co. (CPM) and other Oldcastle Materials companies are involved, engaged civic partners in the communities where we live and work. Our companies strive to safeguard the health, safety, and environmental well-being of their neighborhoods.  Our employees have close personal ties with their local schools, churches, and businesses.

We are proud to support Habitat for Humanity across the nation in their mission to provide affordable housing for all. CPM donates materials for Habitat homes every year.

Whether hosting grade school students for educational tours or developing the next green building material, CPM proactively seeks ways to strengthen relationships and improve outcomes in our communities.

Student Education

Nick Martinez, our Quality Control Tech for CPM Yakima, gave a presentation and tour to an 8th grade class from Washington Middle School. Nick showed them the tools that are used for QC testing, he walked through the testing process, demonstrated breaking a cylinder, pulling a sample from a truck, and testing for air. The 8th grade class took many notes and asked great questions.

2nd Annual Tri-Cities Memory Walk

On September 18, 2010 Central Pre-Mix Concrete Co. had the opportunity to participate in the 2nd Annual Tri-Cities Memory Walk, an opportunity to raise awareness of the Alzheimer’s disease and fundraiser event.  WOW!  What an event.

The event is spearheaded by the family of one of our long-time customers, Ray Poland and Son’s Construction.  Dennis Poland, who has been a very loyal customer as well as a good friend, lost his wife to this disease in 2009.

Central Pre-Mix was very proud to have the opportunity to participate in such a great event and that supports finding a cure to fight Alzheimer’s.
